Let me begin by saying how wonderful these photos turned out! I had envisioned a family photo shoot with the pup wayyyy before it turned even the hint of cold. & after speaking to my best friend Meg quickly about how silly I felt about hoping to have professional photographs taken of our little family (which only includes my husband and puppy at this time) she knew to expect nothing less for me. I knew it wasn't a real option because Nick couldn't even begin to negotiate with me since the price is so high for a quick photo session. (I think he is pictured out after all of the wedding photos, I don't blame him). Here is the good news! I was so happy that I did end up sharing this info with Meg because she ended up calling me a few weeks later to share that she was going to begin her own photography company alongside her job and offered a free shoot for her to practice. It couldn't have worked out more perfect.
So the story goes... it was a wonderful day in late August, when Nick, Bear and I rode to Rock Cut State Park in Rockford, Illinois for our holiday family shoot. It was a crisp 98 degrees (I swear it felt like the hottest day all summer) and I could barely breath when I stepped out of the car, let alone wear a flannel shirt. My hair automatically poofed (after all that prep) and sweat was definitely present in more places that desired. The story ends with a happy ending because despite it all Nick was an amazing sport & Bear was smiling, or should I say panting away.
I have been dying to share these photos, as they needed to be kept hidden until our Christmas cards were sent out. Finally, they have been mailed. So... here you go! Enjoy!
P.S. Contact Meg or browse her beautiful work at Meg Dunn Photography. Or find her on Facebook!
She even took some blog photos for me!
