Baseball Games & Farmer's Markets

One of our favorite things to do during the summer is head to the baseball field and watch Nick play baseball! He plays on a mens league in Chicago and has a blast with the guys and playing the sport he loves. Lefty pitcher, just like his college days.

 Bear loves to watch too!

Remember jellies? I am in love with them now as much as I was when I was 6 years old.

We stopped after the game at the Farmers Market! Our favorite market is the Green City Market in Lincoln Park. The perfect start to a Saturday is at the farmers market. The flowers are always showstopping, a pretty bundle usually makes it home with me each week. :)

This time we tried these homemade juices! The company is called Seasons Soda (link to their Facebook page is here! They support the farmers and use their ingredients (fresh raspberries, apples, strawberries). This is their second year at two different farmers markets. They are also just beginning to offer their drinks at Intelligentsia in Wicker Park! (This Intelligentsia location sounds phenomenal - check out the article I found about the hip Intelligentsia Wicker Park). I think the Lakeview Intelligentsia needs to step up their game!

One of the best things about leaving the farmers markets is that we have never left without a smile. The people we meet, the fresh food that we eat and purchase to use in our own recipes, and seeing all of the individuals that are making a difference in this world by growing fresh food and those that purchase allow for a positive change in this world.

  2. Where do I begin? My Mom and I threw my sister a bridal shower at banquet halls in Chicago and we were so happy with the food, ambiance, staff, and every other little thing.

    1. I agree Jaisy! I love Chicago. I have a hard time leaving the city. My husband and I are actually heading to the suburbs tomorrow morning to look into buying a house... I am having the hardest time realizing that I won't be able to live in the city forever (with a future family on the mind)!
